Airman Jessica Buckner, assigned to Kadena Air Base, is the great, great, great great niece of LTG Simon B. Buckner, who commanded the US Tenth Army in the battle of Okinawa. LTG Buckner was killed on this spot in June 1945 by a Japanese artillery round.
